1.0 INTRODUCTION:
The ePortal is to be used by both students and staff.
Here follows the guidelines for staff to use the ePortal:
2.0 HOME PAGE:
The Home Page looks like this:
3.0 LOGIN:
From the above, a staff begins by clicking on the link: Staff across the top of the screen. On doing this, the login screen shown below appears:
A staff needs to login with his/her staff Id as contained in his/her Staff ID Card and a desired password, which can be changed later for a more secured one. The format for the Staff Id depends on which establishment a staff belongs to e.g. AT/1302 for a Senior Administrative staff, AC/1234 for an academic staff and JS/1826 for a junior staff.
4.0 WELCOME:
On entering the username and password combination, the staff sees the welcome screen below showing the staff’s full names:
A staff continues by clicking on OK.
5.0 TASKS:
Following from the above, a staff sees a screen with a list of tasks that can be performed by staff ONLY. A staff proceeds by clicking on the desired task he/she wishes to perform. The screen for this is as shown below:
The operations of each task are discussed in turn as follows:
This facility is for staffs who lecture certain courses. These lecturers have to be defined by their respective HODs along with the courses they take. If a staff that has not been defined to perform this task attempts to login, a rejection page shown below will appear:
But a successful login displays the page to select one of the courses he/she is taking to view the students who have registered for his/her course(s). The screen for this is:
This screen is similar to the above except that a course adviser defined to carry out this task has the right to exempt certain students from certain courses as deemed necessary. The screen to do this is shown:
This is meant for a lecturer who has been defined to perform this task to load scores for his/her courses. As the courses are being entered, the grades come automatically. The screen for this is:
This is similar to the 5.2 above except that a Part Adviser defined to carry out this task has the right to withdraw certain students from certain courses he is taking for the semester as deemed necessary. The screen for this is also similar to that of 5.2.
This is a facility for students and their lecturers/part advisers to communicate. Lecturers can send assignments to his/her students and each student can submit such assignments to the lecturer through the medium. A typical compose screen in this facility is shown:
6.0 LOGOUT When a staff finishes with his/her task(s), it is recommended that he/she logs out for the system to release all system resources allocated to him/her. This is done by clicking on the SIGN OUT link on the tasks page shown in 5.0 above.
